Well, here we are again with some updates for the festival this year. We really hope you’re as excited as we are about it and are busy telling everyone about it. This year, the festival is not organised by the CCE Gallery volunteers alone.
We’ve partnered with a number of community organisations and individuals who each will be doing their bit to make it special. We also have a number of schools and colleges who’ll be working hard to create stunning pieces for the festival. A group of 4 young lads from Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone (who live in Ashford) have volunteered to do an amazing mural in Park Mall so watch out for it. They are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and chose the festival as their community project. We will be telling you more about them when the work is produced. The wonderful and extremely talented Aaron and Helen from 6-2 Design in Ashford are creating a website for the festival. Oddly enough, the couple will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary the weekend of the festival. What better way to celebrate than with all the wonderful residents and talented people of our town. We are also joined by Ashford’s Blue Red Green Media who’ll be in charge of all the live music and the venues during the festival. If you are a band and would like to join us for the event, do check their website and find out how to apply.
Phillip Long of Nagual Creations is in the planning stages for the creation of the festival masterpiece. We are looking for donation of fiber glass, wood, perspex, neon lights and all sorts of materials so if you have any or know anyone who may be able to help, please do get in touch by emailing email@example.com. We are busy building our next 3D printer. This one’s quiet special and you can come and watch something you like being printed, and buy items of your choice to take home with you. And finally, for now anyway, there will be amazing crafts and arts on display at as many as 40 or 50 stalls on the High Street and Park Mall as well as activities for the children and arty workshops for adults.
If you’re a maker or an artist and would like to exhibit your work and sell them, you can book your stall HERE. Come and join us for a two day extravaganza. If you would like to help and volunteer email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01233 421197. We have a lovely video of last year’s festival. If you haven’t seen it yet, click HERE and enjoy it.
Meanwhile, our Gallery above Cafe Nero is open and workshops and courses continue to be delivered. The display will be changing at the end of this month and we are looking for new artists who would be interested in presenting their work so please pop in or contact us for more details.
More updates very soon. The Team
